How Do Acupuncture Appointments Work?
We begin your healing journey with a thorough assessment and review of your medical history. This initial patient intake is a valuable time for us to learn about you as a whole person and diagnose the underlying causes of your concerns. It is also a valuable time for you to learn about yourself. The intake is followed by a customized acupuncture treatment. From the second appointment, a shorter time is spent for intake and assessment, and a longer time is spent for acupuncture treatment.

Are Treatments Only By Needles?
Acupuncture is one of the many modalities used in traditional Chinese medicine treatments. Although acupuncture is the primary modality, we may also use other modalities in the actual treatment session, including cupping, moxibustion (a form of heat therapy using medicinal herbs), electroacupuncture, far-infrared heat, qigong (an ancient Chinese exercise), and Chinese dietary and lifestyle recommendations, as well as acupressure.
What Do Patients Say After the Treatment?

My patients often say they are "very relaxed," "clear-minded," "feeling lighter," "feeling calm," etc., immediately after the treatment. They also report noticing a positive shift in the evening of the same day, or the following morning, such as "I slept so much better," "the pain improved," "I regained my energy," and "my digestion improved," among others.

Holistic Effects of Acupuncture
Each treatment builds on the previous treatment. Over time, while you start seeing improvements in your chief concerns, you may also experience other benefits. Each treatment aims to restore balance in your body, mind, and spirit while targeting the particular symptoms. Patients report feeling an increased sense of well-being, balanced energy, and increased mental clarity.
